The gullies at the First terrace – The “Sheppard’s” gully and the one next to it are relatively safe to ascent and not very difficult to slope. The third gully is significantly steeper, narrower and hides bigger risk of avalanche then the first two.
The “Rabbit” gully frequently visited because of its short approach. It lies above Maliovitsa hut to the left of Kamilata (Camel) peak and it offers one of the best rides in the region.
Free ride from Maliovitsa peak along “via ferrata”. The slope turns aside from the main ridge shortly after Maliovitsa peak and descends towards Orleto peak along a relatively broad edge. After the end of the edge the slope passes through the Elenino lake. From the Second terrace downwards it is fast to reach the hut. The slope above Elenino lake is placed at the right of the upper part of the “via ferrata”. Its start is a steep snowy field ending with rocks. The ride goes slightly to the left and then down through a tiny steep declivity resembling a gully.
Free ride from “Bezimenen” (Nameless) peak, at the left of Elenino lake. The ride should be done through the right end gully. The other gullies end with thresholds.
The gullies along the eastern slope of Maliovitsa peak. These are two steep gullies. At the start of the left one a big visor is formed. The gullies reach the upper Elenino lake and join the traditional sloping of Maliovitsa peak.
The gullies above the Second terrace are broad and not very steep. Under bad snowy conditions they could hide a big risk of avalanche. The first of them descends from “Small Maliovitsa” peak. The second one descends at the left of the sheer orange cliff. It ends with a rocky threshold and is very narrow.
The Chimney of “Small Maliovitsa” peak passes directly through the rocky cleft of a big rock of “Small Maliovitsa” peak. The ride combines sloping down a broad declivity and passing through a narrow gully with overhanging rocks.
The gullies of “Petlite” (Roosters), looked from the second terrace they are two long straight gullies. The left gully (between “Orlovets” and the “Petlite” peaks) is steeper and longer. The right gully is easier to climb and offers a pleasant ride.
Free ride from shelter “BAK” – To reach the shelter one should climb the slope at the left of the Second terrace and continue upwards along a dwarf pine-rocky edge. The ride down can be done through the upward way. |
